Recurring Reports and Automatic Updates
Keep one Stated publication current on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule while preserving one stable link for readers.

Automatic Updates keep one Stated publication current on a schedule. They are useful when the audience needs the latest version at the same link: a weekly client update, a competitor watch, a monthly KPI report or a living research brief.
The important idea is simple: the automation may run repeatedly, but the reader keeps using one Page.
Before you begin
Automatic Updates are available on Pro and higher plans. Each run uses Stated Credits, so check that the account has enough available credit before relying on a schedule.
Start with a Page that has a clear purpose, source material and audience. Do not automate a publication that is still changing direction every day.
Create an update schedule
- Open the Page you want to maintain.
- Choose the automatic update option.
- Write a clear instruction describing what should change and what must stay stable.
- Choose a daily, weekly or monthly schedule.
- Review the first update before treating the Page as a reliable recurring report.
A good instruction is specific:
Every Monday, update this report with the latest validated sales figures available to this workflow. Preserve the executive summary unless the evidence changes it. Do not invent data. Highlight material changes and keep the existing access setting.
Keep the publication stable
Use the same Page for ongoing work. Its link, reader history and responses remain connected as it is refreshed.
Create a new Page only when each run needs to be a separate archived deliverable—for example, a formal monthly report with its own dated record.
Choose the right source
Use a known public URL when you are refreshing one source. Use a broader research workflow when the question needs multiple sources and citations. Keep source-backed material distinct from editorial opinion, and review significant changes before acting on them.
Pause, review and recover
Pause an update when the source, objective or audience changes. If a run cannot proceed because the plan or credits are unavailable, it should not overwrite the last useful version of the Page.
Automated updates are for keeping information current, not for removing human responsibility. Review important changes, especially when the publication informs a client, public decision or commercial action.
