Sharing and visibility

How Stated publications are shared and who can open them: public, unlisted, password protected, sign-in required and paid access.

· 1 min read

Stated lets you choose who can open a publication and how it is delivered. Access settings apply to the live Page or Experience without changing its content or link.

Visibility options

Choose the least restrictive option that still matches the audience. Use unlisted for ordinary private sharing; use a password or registration when the work needs stronger access control or attributable responses.

Share a publication

From Stated, share the link directly, send it to saved contacts by email or prepare a share for WhatsApp or Telegram. LinkedIn and X distribution is available only when the appropriate account is connected and the account plan permits it.

A share records the delivery event on the owner's activity history. It does not make an unlisted publication public.

Viewer identity and responses

When a publication collects a response through a form, poll, question, file request or Voice Agent, Stated associates identity only when that information was collected. Do not assume that every view is an identified person.

Practical examples

A client report can be unlisted and sent by email. A research survey can require registration before collecting answers. A public launch can remain public while its feedback form asks respondents to identify themselves.

See Pages for interactive publication behaviour and Responses and Analytics for what owners can measure.
