Documents
Learn how Stated Documents work for continuous editable writing such as proposals, notes, contracts and long-form deliverables.

A Document is Stated's continuous writing format. It is designed for content that should behave like a familiar editable document rather than a block-based report or fullscreen website.
When to use a Document
Use Documents for proposals, contracts, notes, briefs, long-form writing and other deliverables where a continuous body of text is the natural structure.
For structured interactive reports, use a Page. For immersive website-like outputs, use an Experience.
Create with AI
Documents can be created from an AI workflow when Stated is connected to a supported assistant. Provide the title and body you want to publish, then continue editing the same Document instead of creating new copies for every revision.
Edit in place
A Document can be updated, rewritten or extended while keeping the same underlying publication. This makes it suitable for iterative work where the content evolves over time.
Sharing
Documents are part of the same Stated publication layer as Pages and Experiences. Their link can be shared, and publication settings determine how the content is exposed.
Moving to another format
If a Document grows into a structured report or an immersive presentation, supported conversions let the existing content move to another Stated format without treating it as an unrelated new project.
Choose a Document when the simplest description of what you are making is: a document people need to read, edit and share.
